Python Programming Course in Singapore — Beginner Training

This hands-on Python course in Singapore takes you from complete beginner to confident coder in just two days. You will learn to think like a programmer, understand how software is built, and write your own working programs in Python — the easiest and most in-demand language to learn. No coding background is needed; we start from absolute scratch and build your skills step by step in our fully equipped classroom.

By the end of this Python training in Singapore you will be able to read, write, edit and debug clean Python code, automate repetitive tasks at work, and build logic from simple scripts through to more involved programs. You will leave knowing how to use variables, data types, loops, conditional statements, functions, standard libraries, and how to test and deploy your code with confidence.

Python Fundamentals for Complete Beginners — 2-day hands-on workshop, no coding experience needed, WSQ funding up to 70%.
Four building blocks of Python: variables, conditions, loops, and functions.
Four ideas underpin every Python program — master them and the rest builds on top.

What You Will Learn

  • Grasp core programming fundamentals and analyse a business problem before turning it into a working solution.
  • Design and document algorithms using flowcharts and pseudocode, then translate them into Python.
  • Work with variables, data types and operators, and use Python as a calculator with correct operator precedence.
  • Control program flow with if / elif / else conditions and for / while loops.
  • Write reusable procedures and functions, and tap into standard libraries such as random, math and datetime.
  • Test, debug and refine your programs so they meet requirements before release.
  • Read and write text, CSV and Excel files, and handle errors gracefully with exception handling.
Core Python data types: integers and floats, strings, lists and tuples, and dictionaries.
A handful of built-in types cover almost everything you will store and process.

Who Should Attend

This course is built for anyone starting out in programming — no prior experience assumed.

  • Complete beginners who have never written a line of code before.
  • Professionals who want to automate repetitive, day-to-day tasks at work.
  • Analysts, executives and managers who want a practical grounding in coding logic.
  • Students and career-changers exploring a move into software or data roles.
  • Teams from companies that want a common Python foundation across the business.

Prerequisites

  • No prior programming or Python experience is required — we teach you from the ground up.
  • Basic computer literacy (using files, a keyboard and a web browser) is all you need.
  • Familiarity with any other programming language is helpful but entirely optional.

Course Outline

Day 1 — Programming Foundations & Python Essentials

  • Programming fundamentals — how programs are developed, how to instruct a computer, and how to analyse business needs.
  • Logic & program flow — develop logic, convert business requirements into a workable program flow, and apply design techniques.
  • Algorithms — break a problem into steps and represent it clearly with flowcharts and pseudocode.
  • Getting started with Python — install the software, explore the environment, and write your first Python program.
  • Calculations, data types & variables — perform calculations, manage operator precedence, and work with numbers, variables and data types.
  • Boolean comparison — build Boolean expressions and use comparison operators to make decisions.

Day 2 — Building, Testing & Documenting Programs

  • Aggregate data types — store and manipulate collections using lists and tuples.
  • Conditional statements — control your program with if, if-else and if-elif constructs.
  • Procedures & functions — write your first functions, develop reusable procedures, and apply subroutine best practices.
  • Loops & libraries — iterate with for and while loops and call standard libraries like random, math and datetime.
  • Testing & modification — identify error types, find and fix bugs, and improve your programs.
  • File handling, exceptions & documentation — read and write text, CSV and Excel files, handle exceptions, and write self-explaining, version-controlled code.
